Named twice, praised twice, and nothing more.
كُلٌّ مِّنَ الصَّابِرِينَ
His story
Dhul-Kifl is mentioned with Isma'il and Idris: "each of them was among the patient", and "they were among the righteous" 21:85-86. He is also named among "the best" 38:48.
Many stories are told about who he was. None of them is in the Quran or the authentic hadith, so we do not tell them here.

Among the patient
Allah mentions Dhul-Kifl twice, both times among the best: "Isma'il, Idris and Dhul-Kifl, all were among the patient. We admitted them into Our mercy," and "remember Isma'il, al-Yasa' and Dhul-Kifl, all among the best." The Quran tells us almost nothing else about him, and we do not add to it.
What he did when…
We know almost nothing of Dhul-Kifl's life. We know what Allah said about him: patient, righteous, admitted into His mercy, among the best. You do not need everyone to know your story. Allah's praise is enough.
