The 25 prophets of the Quran
وَعَلَّمَ آدَمَ الْأَسْمَاءَ كُلَّهَا
And He taught Adam the names, all of them. 2:31
Millions of children carry their names. Muhammad, Ibrahim, Yusuf, Musa, Maryam's son 'Isa. Before a name is given, know who carried it first: what he lived through, how he loved, and what he did on his hardest day.
From Adam to Muhammad ﷺ
The tree of the prophets
Adam at the top. The light passes down through Nuh to Ibrahim, then divides between his two sons, and the two lines meet again at the last messenger. Tap any circle.
- descended from
- same era, another line
- gave the good news
The line of Isma'il runs on, quietly, generation after generation, through the Arabs of Makkah.
رَبَّنَا وَابْعَثْ فِيهِمْ رَسُولًا مِّنْهُمْ
Ibrahim and Isma'il prayed: "Our Lord, raise up among them a messenger from among them." 2:129
'Isa gave the good news of a messenger to come after him, named Ahmad. 61:6
The order follows the Quran and the classical scholars. Where they differ about who came first, we follow the most common view.
