When his people tried to burn him and he had to leave everything behind, Ibrahim did not say "I am running away." He said: "I am going to my Lord. He will guide me." Leaving became a journey towards someone, not away from something.
His whole storyWhen you have to leave home
Ibrahim, Lut, Musa, and the last Messenger ﷺ all left the place they knew. None of them left without turning to Allah first.
Lut believed in Ibrahim when almost no one did, and left his homeland with him: "I am emigrating to my Lord. He is the Mighty, the Wise." He did not know where the road would end. He knew who it led to.
His whole storyHe fled Egypt alone, afraid, looking over his shoulder, and prayed as he went: "My Lord, save me from the wrongdoing people." When he turned towards Madyan, a land he did not know, he said: "Perhaps my Lord will guide me to the right path." Fear and hope, in the same few steps.
His whole storyHe was driven out of Makkah, the city he loved, and hid in a cave with one companion while they searched for him. Allah describes that moment: "the second of two, when they were in the cave, when he said to his companion: Do not grieve, Allah is with us." Leaving home did not mean leaving Allah's care.
