Ibrahim did not know who his guests were. He went quickly and quietly, and came back with the best he had 51:24-27.
From the Quran
From the Prophet ﷺ
Seen in the prophets
When his guests were threatened, Lut stood between them and the crowd: "Fear Allah, and do not disgrace me with my guests" 11:78. Their honour was his honour.
When he came home shaking after the first revelation, Khadijah comforted him by naming his character: you keep family ties, you carry the weak, you honour the guest Bukhari 3.
What it is not
Honouring a guest is not showing off. Ibrahim brought what he had, quickly, and asked them to eat. The point is the guest, not the table.
Today, in practice
Offer water before anything else.
Put your phone away while a guest is in the room.
Walk your guest to the door when they leave.
Small, practical steps. This is friendly advice, not a ruling.
